Facilicom have made a major contribution to EHRC

Facilicom have made a major contribution to the EHRC's major report on cleaning colleagues' terms and conditions of work, The Invisible Workforce. As a company Facilicom have been highly participatory in initiatives to improve the image of our industry and the working conditions within it. As  a member of the EHRC's working party preparing the report, we were able to provide first hand evidence of how we deal with any concerns our employees may have and show best practice in these areas.

Subsequent to this report being published, Phil Smith, the company's Corporate Relationship Director, has been appointed to sit on two more working parties set up by the EHRC. The first of these relates to 'responsible procurement' within the industry and its aim will be to ensure that procurement practices take into account the working conditions of cleaners. The second working party's focus will be to explore ways to make sure workers are treated with more dignity and respect.
